Dr Amir Rahimi

After Medical school, I worked for one year in forensic medicine where I gained experience in other aspects of medical work. I started work in primary health care which was an opportunity to coordinate the initiation of DOTS program for the management of tuberculosis. I had the privilege to work in the cardiac care unit for 5 years as well as emergency unit, and trauma unit for more than 10 years. Then I moved to South Africa and started my rotations in different departments in general Hospital which was an opportunity to attend DA program in anaesthesia. I started my masters degree in Family Medicine at University of pretoria in 2015 and graduated in 2019, during which I received my fellowship in Family Medicine. Currently I am doing a combination of clinical and academic work consisting of education, and mentoring of interns as well as BCMP students. I am also doing research and quality improvement projects. I am involved in clinical governance activity in my District.
