To unlock the clues to these treasures navigate through our stunning campus, or find them within the depths of the University of Pretoria Archives digital corridors (https://www.up.ac.za/up-archives) and its “A Day in the Life” exhibition (on the noticeboards next to the HSB) where every corner holds a clue waiting to be found. Uncover intriguing riddles in the PDBY that will guide you through iconic landmarks, allowing you to unravel the stories of remarkable women who defied societal norms, shattered glass ceilings, and ignited change. Rules and regulations

The competition consists of three sets of five questions focusing on Campus Architecture, Woman at UP and Symbols and Traditions at UP. The winner of each section will be either the person with the first set of correct answers or the person who first emailed the most correct answers. Runner-up prizes will be given for winners in each section and an overall prize will be given to the person who submitted the most correct answers in all three sections. Questions and clues will appear in the following PDBY editions: 14 August, 28 August and 02 October 2023. Final date for entries is 31 October 2023. Double check your answers - the first submission will be regarded as your final submission.

Participation in the competition is voluntary and free and open to all students, staff and alumni of the University of Pretoria.

The University of Pretoria will not be held responsible or liable for any damages, expenses or loss of whatever nature or injuries incurred during participation in this competition.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The University reserves the exclusive right, at its sole discretion, to discontinue the competition at any time.

It is your responsibility to ensure that any information which you provide is accurate, complete and up to date.

No responsibility will be accepted for entries lost, delayed or damaged in transmission.

Closing date: the competition runs from 14 August to 31 October 2023. No late entries will be accepted or considered.
