In celebration of World Hunger Day 2022, Dr Adrino Mazenda, food a food security expert and Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Management and Administration was interviewed on Newzroom Afrika where he explained what the driving factors of hunger and food security are in South Africa. Dr Mazenda and his colleagues conducted a study to determine what was driving hunger in Gauteng, South Africa. According to Dr Mazenda, conflict, climate change, poverty and population growth are the main drivers of food insecurity. He also argues that one of the biggest drivers is education.
