Translation and Interpreting Studies is housed within the Department of African Languages. This does not mean that you need to have knowledge of an African language in order to enrol for Translation and Interpreting Studies, but having knowledge of an African language is definitely not a bad idea. The Department of African Languages caters for the whole spectrum of language learners – from beginners to mother tongue speakers.
