The Tax Indaba, held from 11 to 15 September 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, is now the largest annual gathering bringing together the entire tax community – tax practitioners, in-house staff members, government tax officials and tax academics. The Tax Indaba seeks to involve all professional tax bodies in South Africa and to add new variety and talent to benefit tax professionals who are seeking to refresh their knowledge and to learn about new tax-related developments.
The theme of stream 2 on day 5 of the conference was ‘Tax education: Development and Efficacy’. This session was attended by Theresa van Oordt, Tanya Hill, Juanita Venter and Noma Bafana from the Department of Taxation.
