Final Year Research Posters
The final-year Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology students complete a research project over the course of their final year. At the end of the year, the students are required to have poster presentations to showcase their research findings. The posters are judged by two experts in the field, and the winners are as follows.
The best Research poster for Speech-Language Pathology 2023:
Final year students Kate Wittstock, Humayra Gardee, Helene Veerasamy, and Diyaanah Loonat, supervised by Prof Salome Geerstema, Prof Mia Le Roux, and Dr Carmen Milton, won the prize for the best presentation of their research project titled "The English early literacy and Literacy skills of rural learners changing from home language instruction in Grade 4".
The best Research poster for Audiology 2023:
Final year students Zani Burger, Daneel Jacobs, Jared Moll, and Paballo Mothibe, supervised by Prof. Faheema Mahomed Asmail and Prof De Wet Swanepoel, won the prize for the best poster presentation of their research project titled "Hearing aid verification: practices and perceptions of South African Audiologists".
