ASHA convention 2023, Boston

Prof Faheema Mahomed-Asmail recently had the pleasure of attending the ASHA 2023 convention, centered around the theme of "Igniting Innovation”, in the vibrant city of Boston, USA.

The convention not only served as a platform for learning but also as a networking hub, where professionals from various backgrounds converged to share their expertise and experiences. The collective enthusiasm for the theme of innovation permeated every aspect of the event, creating an atmosphere charged with creative energy. She also had the opportunity to present a team project on "Globalized Learning in Audiology Education” alongside Nannette Nicholson (Norton Sound Health Corporation). The convention sessions and presentations were not only insightful but also succeeded in sparking new and exciting ideas.

During the convention, she had the opportunity to connect with collaborators she had been working with online for a number of years—Nannette Nicholson, Kathryn Crowe, Laura Coco, Vinaya Manchaiah, and Rachel Glade. Despite their prior virtual collaborations, this was the first time she had the chance to meet many of them in person.

In closing, Prof F Mahomed-Asmail mentioned that “it was a truly memorable event that will undoubtedly influence future endeavors.”
