Auditory Neuropathy workshop 24 & 26 March 2009

Posted on September 25, 2008

A group of expert international speakers, led by renowned paediatric audiologist Dr Deborah Hayes, from the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado in the USA will present and discuss the most current guidelines & recommendations on identification, diagnosis & management of children with the condition.

Auditory neuropathy is more common than previously suspected with 1 in every 10 children with hearing loss presenting with the condition. Unfortunately it is often misdiagnosed and mistreated due to its complex nature. This workshop will provide practical information to ensure accurate identification, diagnosis and intervention.

The 1-day workshop is the result of a collaboration of the Children’s Hospital, Denver, USA, and the University of Pretoria and the H.A.S.S. Group. It is the direct result of the “Guidelines Development Conference on Auditory Neuropathy (AN)” held with the NHS 2008 conference on Lake Como, Italy.
