The evening was very well attended by family members, interested members of the public, as well as students – all of whom enjoyed the diverse and full program aimed at sharing the projects undertaken by the group members and their 6 final year student facilitators, supervised by Dr Glenn Goldblum over the year period. In addition, a guest speaker, Mr Eric Delmont who had a stroke 13 years ago shared his experiences and insights, with a particular focus on family members. This talk was very well received. Mr Delmont presented each group member with a Certificate of Participation which the group had designed.
The Open Evening has become a highlight in the Conversation Groups’ annual program – where information is shared, group members feel empowered throughout the process, and attendees learn more about living with a communication difficulty after an acquired brain injury.
