Brief Description of the Programme:


This course has been structured in such a manner that attendees can chose to attend both sessions and just one. This seminar /workshop has been arranged in order to coincide with the International Stuttering Awareness day which is held internationally on the 22nd October annually.

Professionals who work with children and teenagers who stutter are encouraged to attend the seminar. Research has highlighted many new trends which in turn have an influence on how these learners should be manage in the home and classroom setting. Therapists and teachers alike often need assistance in managing these learners within a collaborative system. Often parents cannot are not able to consult regularly with teachers and therefore the school needs to help to support these learners.

The focus of the second session is for adults with a stuttering problem and how this problem impacts on the individual in the work place. The aim is to empower employees with knowledge so that they glean a better understanding of their position at work. Furthermore employers should learn more about employing persons who stutter. The main aim of the second session is to share information on legal matters in the work place. Professionals who counsel persons who stutter and employers will benefit from the discussion.


Course Structure and Venue:

This is a half day course presented at the Department of Communication Pathology, University of Pretoria, Main Campus.

The half day consists of 2 sessions which you can register for separately.

Parking is available at the UP Parkade for R20.


Assessment and Accreditation:

A certificate of attendance with 4 CPD points will be issued to all delegates attending both sessions.

A certificate of attendance with 2 CPD points will be issued to all delegates attending one session.


Course Fee:

The course fee is R200 per delegate and includes all course notes and refreshments.

The course fee for one session is R100, including course notes and one refreshment.
