Guest Professors from Sweden and Australia

 Umeå University, Sweden and Prof Robert Eikelboom from The University of Western Australia and Ear Science Institute Australia, are spending the last week in February into the first half of March at the Department of Communication Pathology.

Professor Laurent is an Otologist whilst Professor Eikelboom is a bio-engineer. Both, however, are well-known for their work in telehealth services for ear and hearing disorders. They are currently working with Prof De Wet Swanepoel and several postgraduate students on a number of joint projects.

Furthermore they have both recently been appointed as extraordinary professors in the Department of Communication Pathology, University of Pretoria in recognition of their international profile and existing collaborations with the department.

An ear and hearing telehealth workshop will be held on 7 March 2013 in the Department.
