Professor Diane A Kendall, PhD, CCC-SLP, an Associate Professor and Research Investigator at the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences of the University of Washington in Seattle, USA received a Fulbright scholarship to spend five months (1 July till 30 November 2013) at the University of Pretoria. She will be conducting research in cooperation with Professor Anita van der Merwe from the Department of Communication Pathology. Their research will be focused on phonological planning disorders in bi-/multilingual individuals after brain damage and on the effects of the application of the Speech Motor Learning Approach to treating motor speech disorders, which was developed by Professor van der Merwe.
