Under the Global Capital Impact theme we are concerned with the rise of the middle class in Africa and its consumerist ideology in relation to issues of environmental sustainability in Africa. Linked to this are the impact of economic liberalism and global capitalism on environmental sustainability and the deletion of local agency on environmental policy issues.
