Dr Onkgopotse Madumo, a senior lecturer and the undergraduate programme coordinator at the School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA), was recently appointed as acting Chief Editor of Administratio Publica Journal by the Association of Southern African Schools and Departments of Public Administration and Management (ASSADPAM). This quarterly peer-reviewed journal is accredited with the South African Department of Higher Education and Training and aims to promote academic scholarship in public administration and management and related fields.

He says, “Being appointed as acting Chief Editor of Administratio Publica, serves as a confirmation that my colleagues in the fraternity have confidence in my abilities to carry-out this special task, I am really humbled by this. I will try to maintain the standard of this esteemed journal”.

Dr Madumo is not new to the management and administration of academic journals, he was previously involved in the esteemed African Journal of Public Affairs and the Journal of Public Administration as an editorial assistant. In April 2020, he was approached by the Local Economy Policy Unit at the London South Bank University in the United Kingdom to serve as an Associate Editor responsible for Africa for the prestigious Local Economy Journal, a position he still holds.
