The School of Public Management and Administration hosted its 12th International Conference on 24 and 25 October 2019 at the Diep in die Berg conference venue. The theme of the conference was ‘The future of Public Administration scholarship and practice: assess, adapt, advance’. Renowned scholar in the discipline of public management and administration Prof Jos Raadschelders from Ohio State University delivered the keynote address. Academics from South African universities, as well as universities in Africa and the United States, attended the conference together with practitioners in the field of public administration. During the two-day conference, numerous papers were presented, addressing themes such as advancing scholarship and research in public administration; advancing development through public administration; assessing financial readiness; adapting local government and human resource practices; as well as advancing the public administration through teaching and the use of technology.
