Since its establishment in 1993, the School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) has held a number of conversation series events with the aim of providing a platform where academics, students, researchers and practitioners can discuss topical issues affecting public management and administration locally and internationally.
The keynote speaker for the SPMA conversation series lecture held during May 2019 was Dr Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, previous Minister of Public Service and Administration and current member of the United Nations’ Committee of Experts on Public Administration. The topic of the lecture fell within the theme for the SPMA events for 2019, namely ‘The future of Public Administration scholarship and practice: assess, adapt, advance’.
In attendance were public administration and management practitioners, academics, SPMA Advisory Board members and postgraduate students. Dr Fraser-Moleketi emphasised the importance of embracing the values and principles of public administration while focusing of the promotion of a profession public service, prepared for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.A events is: “The future of Public Administration scholarship and practice: assess, adapt, advance’.
