BAdmin@Tuks, a student society for BAdmin students at the University of Pretoria, had a fruitful and a productive 2017 in terms of its community outreach initiatives.
The executive committee initiated a project to recreate and redesign a library in the newly established Nelmapius Primary School in Mamelodi. The initiative included painting walls and stacking shelves with reading books collected from donations.
The second initiative that BAdmin@Tuks undertook in collaboration with Feed A Homeless Homie, a non-profit charity organisation which aims to feed the homeless on the streets, took place at the end of each month in 2017. During this initiative, BAdmin@Tuks took to the streets of Arcadia, Hatfield and Sunnyside, distributing packed foods to the homeless and the less privileged. This initiative assisted approximately 80 people during each monthly drive.
