The annual SPMA Award Ceremony took place on 4 December 2009 and was hosted in the Reception Venue,UP Conference Centre . Attendees included best achievers, family, friends, donors, sponsors (PPS, Juta, Heinemann) , SPMA and other UP members of staff . Prof. Carolina Koornhof was the key note speaker of the night.

 Awards and Trophies presented on the night:

• SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the First Year Level, awarded to: Nozipho Mnyandu

• SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Second Year Level, awarded to: Sibongile Mahlaule                                                       

• Heinemann Achievement Award for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Third Year Level, awarded to Angela Namukaaya                                                        

• Juta Award for the Best Achievement in Personnel Administration on Honours Level & PPS Award for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Honours Level, awarded to Jamil Mammadalizade

• SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the MPA Level, awarded to Sibusiso Sekwane                                                        

• Nicolaas Ligthart Roux Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in International Administration on the MPA Level, awarded to Azwihangwisi Nesengani                                        

• Christopher Thornhill Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Local Government Management and Administration on the MPA Level, awarded to Vuyo Mlokothi

• Heinemann Achievement Award for the Best MPA Research Report, awarded to Paula van Dyk

• SPMA Director’s Award for the Best Achievement in Policy Analysis on the MPA Level, awarded to Michael Reddy

• Professor Allan Rosenbaum Award for the Best Achievement in the Degree M.Admin. in Public Administration, awarded to Reshma Sheoraj
