The topic of her lecture was entitled “Achieving better outcomes for our schooling system: Challenges, progress and issues for the Gauteng Department of Education”.

This insightful symposium was preceded by a welcoming message by the Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of Pretoria, Professor Cheryl de la Rey. The MEC’s speech highlighted the significance of a quality education system. The lecture was attended by approximately 50 participants who had an opportunity to ask questions regarding the educational system of the Gauteng Province. This discussion was facilitated by the Director of the School of Public Management and Administration, Professor Jerry Kuye.
