#TuksRugby: Tuks Unstoppable against Police

Posted on June 13, 2016

The Tuks train has finally gained momentum and will make things difficult for any opposition. This past week TuksRugby played against arch rivals Police the team that snatched the Assupol title from Tuks in the beginning of the year and gave Tuks a beating in the first round of the Carlton Cup.

On Thursday night the U/20 and U/21 played against the junior Police. In true class the U/20 Tuks team sealed the victory with 76-0 points. The U/21 had a lot to prove because in the first round of the Carlton Cup against Police they won 18-5. On Thursday night the Tukkie men raised the bar and won 62-5 against their counterparts.

Tuks 3 (Pumas) dominated in the second half and eventually won 19-10 against Police 3. Tuks 2 (Fezelas) started off with a bang ending the first half with a 27-0 lead against Police 2. In the second half Police 2 gave Tuks a good run forcing the Tukkie men to defend. With 10 minutes towards full time Tuks 2(Fezelas) managed to score twice before the end of the game winning 39-12 against Police 2.

Up next was UP-Tuks 1 against Police 1. The first 20 minutes was a tough encounter in the frontline with the forwards bashing and running. Half-time ended with UP-Tuks in the lead with a score line of 18-12 against Police. In the second half the opponents received a yellow card and UP-Tuks 1 managed to snatch the win by 47-24 at the end of play.

There are only 4 points separating the four teams at the top of the log. Next week Tuks will host Centurion at Tuks Stadium on Saturday, 18 June 2016 and it promises to be an entertaining clash. The final result will determine whether Tuks will be hosting the semi-finals.
