TuksRugby Outreach

TuksRugby was approached by a Tshepiso Sport Group that is from the community to help hosting the Rugby Community event.  Our goal was to do something active for the children on historical Youth day and to introduce them to a different sporting code.

Rugby is one of our country’s biggest sporting code, but almost none of the schools in the community have it as part of the sport curriculum.  All of the sport Educators was willing to be part and also to introduce the sport into the school’s curriculum.

The willingness and potential of the children makes TuksRugby hopeful to create a full- time outreach program in the near future for the community.

The TuksRugby outreach programme received a sponsorship late last year and provide equipment and playing kit for the Nantus Primary school.  The school prospect and grown the rugby programme with four boys attending the Blue Bulls Primary school trails at Cornwall Hill College.

TuksRugby Outreach programme didn’t do much this year because of the lack of funds but is busy planning to grown the programme next year by offering:

  • More training sessions
  • Possible development tournament
  • Ball boys or attending a Varsity Cup home game
  • Coaching clinic
  • Possible friendly games
  • Approach more development schools
