#TuksRugby: Tuks gets “5 UPs” against Impala

Tuks managed to get 5 out of 5 wins this week in the instalment of Carlton Cup League. The boys travelled to the mining town Rustenburg to face 2013 community champions the Impala Rugby Club. The spectators were in full attendance as this was one of the biggest games of the season.

The day started off with the u/20 and Tuks 3 Pumas playing at the same time on (A) and (B) field at Impala stadium. The u/20 showed their skill and beat their opponents with a little over 10 points. The Tuks 3 (Pumas) men ran riot and had secured tvictory of above 20 points.

Tuks 2(Fezelas) and u/21 were up next and showed what running rugby is all about and they won their games with ease. Fezelas won 71-5 while the U/21 won by 116 points.

The main match of the day saw Tuks 1 go up against local favourites Impala 1. The much-anticipated match was an intense encounter as the Tuks boys dominated with open play while Impala was crunching the Tuks scrum. Both teams were tied 13 all at half-time. Tuks struck a try and 6 minutes later Impala scored and kicked over the conversion to take the lead.

In the last minutes of the game Frederik Ekesteen and Damian van Wyk scored 2 great tries for Tuks to record a great victory for the Tuks men as the first team gets closer to the top of the log.
