#TuksRugby: Johan Visser-Old but not Cold

Posted on May 26, 2016

Numerous rugby legends have made history by coming back from retirement to make a contribution to their respective teams. We have seen the likes of Victor Matfield, Bob Skinstert and Tanga Umaga. Who can forget Carlos Spencer from the Lions? This coming weekend TuksRugby will have a historic moment when Tuks 2(Fezelas) face Impala in Rustenburg.

Johan Visser attended Aksia High School and was part of the popular TUT team that won the Carlton Cup from 2003-2005. He joined the TuksRugby coaching staff in 2016 and was Head Coach for the UP-Tuks Varsity Sports 7’s team.

Thirty-six-year-old Johan Visser will become TuksRugby’s oldest player to run out on the field on Saturday evening. Due to numerous injuries in the scrumhalf's position Johan decided to take one for the team and cover that position. In his prime Johan was a brilliant halfback and he brings a lot of knowledge to the game. The Tuks players are excited to play alongside the Coach.
