Tuks started their match against UWC the stronger of the two teams, executing an excellent kick and chase for Dewald Naude to score the opener.

Despite Luke van der Smit receiving a yellow card for a dangerous tip tackle, WJ Strydom pounced on an opportunity to score a second Tuks try on the stroke of half-time to lead 12-0 at the break.

Ill-discipline cost Tuks again in the second half when WJ Strydom was yellow-carded and Tuks went down to six men.

UWC’s Ruan Mostert took immediate advantage on the wing with an overlap during the Power Play to pull it back to 12-12

It was a different UWC team in the second half and soon Nieyaas Johnson scored another for UWC after taking a quick tap following pressure on Tuks after the restart and UWC led 19-12.

The pressure continued and it was all UWC. They scored a couple more through Ruan Mostert, rounding up a 31-12 victory.
