In total Tuks coach Freddie Grobler and his fellow selectors made nine changes to the team, three forced by the injuries of fullback Johan Jackson, centre Franco Booysen and flanker Danie Crous.

Boshoff is one of four new faces in the backline. The other three are Shaun Davids, Jaco Oosthuizen and Tom Seabela.

Of the changes up front that at hooker makes most sense. The inclusion of Blue Bulls hooker Henri Bantjes could at last see an end to Tuks’ line-out nightmares. The other changes are at tight head prop (Peet Vorster), lock (Peet Bothma) and flank (Gert Lubbe).

There is also a new looking bench with only scrumhalf Ignick Windvogel surviving the axe.
