In their preparation for the last group game Maroela will place all the emphasis on fitness and skills, the two values most needed for a big win against Monitor.

“The biggest positive of the loss against Dromedaris is there can’t possibly be a repeat on this below par performance, by far our worst of the season. The players were listless; sort of like a team that’s on the field but never switches on. It came as no surprise to me that we seldom look like scoring a try,” added Van der Merwe.

Most disappointing was the way in which the senior players let down the team, because it was they who lost the plot the most.

“Every senior player knows full well to what extend he let down the team and it is now up to all of them to right the wrongs against Monitor,” said Van der Merwe.
