He not only scored one of Tuks’ 14 tries in their 94-0 win against Eersterust, but also slotted home four conversions for a personal tally of 13 points.

Ettienne made his debut for Tuks I in 2007 in the Carlton Cup match against Correctional Services.

“Winning the Carlton Cup in 2007 and last year were wonderful, as well as our remarkable performance against Maties in the pool stages of this year’s Varsity Cup series,” remarked Ettienne on personal high lights in his first 49 matches for Tuks.

He still has a lot of ideals in the Tuks jersey: to win the Carlton Cup for the third year running, to win the National Club Championships hosted by University of Pretoria later this year, and in his last year of Varsity Cup rugby next year be a member of the most successful Tuks team yet.

Ettienne is 24 and a third year civil engineering student.
