Sonop lost its first match after seasoned ex Tuks scrumhalf Piet Viviers scored a last minute try for Onderstepoort (16-9). In the preliminary round Onderstepoort also took care of defending champions Maroela.
The match between Maroela and Olienhout did not take place due to too many ill players. The match was declared a draw (0-0).
The fixture between Geelhout and Kiaat also did not take place. Kiaat was unable to field a side, making Geelhout the winners by default (40-0).
