“I am very proud of the guys. It was not a faultless performance, but one that showed our class and commitment to also retain the Carlton Club. It was the first time in three matches that we managed to beat TUT and for that to coincide with our first 50 of the season went down very well,” responded Blikkies Groenewald, UP-Tuks 1 Head Coach.

UP-Tuks also looked to be the better team, but they will have to address their loss of concentration in the second half allowing TUT to score two very soft tries.

Flanker Louis van Biljon was named UP-Tuks 1’s Man of the Match.

UP-Tuks’ seven tries were scored by Grant Kemp (2), Jean Rossouw, Hayden Groepes, Deon Helberg, Gerhard van der Merwe and Jono van Rensburg. Wesley Dunlop (4) and Gerrit Smith (2) succeeded with conversions. Dunlop also added a penalty goal.
