About TuksYouthRugby

TuksYouthRugby provides to the rugby playing youth of Pretoria and surroundings the opportunity to enjoy their passion for rugby within a professional environment. Very well qualified coaches and officials assist the players in developing their potential and skills to a higher level.

Should rugby be your child’s passion and you want your son / daughter’s rugby skills to be further developed through quality rugby coaching, more exposure and opportunities, TuksYouthRugby is the right place to be.

Primary school teams, u/7 to u/13 and high school teams, u/14 to u/18 are accommodated. Annually TuksYouthRugby introduces the u/8 bulletjies to the 15-man code to familiarise them with this format. This transformation phase is ideal preparation for the bulletjies for the following year’s school rugby and the value thereof is proven in the past and cannot be underrated. The u/7 bulletjies play 7-man tag-rugby with a lot of focus on basic skills development.

TuksYouth Rugby appointed a sevens rugby coach to implement sevens rugby for girls u/14 to u/18 at Tuks.

The first pre-season rugby clinic will take place on Saturday, 05th May 2018 from 09:00 to 11:00 at the A to E Fields on the UP Sports Campus. The first official practice for the 2018 season will start on Friday, 20th July 2018, after the school holidays and will take place on a weekly basis on a Friday night at 18:00 on the UP Sports Campus during the entire season. The season’s youth rugby matches will start on Saturday, 21st July 2018, and the season will close on Saturday, 06th October 2018. All matches are played on Saturdays.

Another objective of TuksYouthRugby is to prepare the players to such an extent as to provide to them the best opportunity to stand a chance to be selected for the respective Blue Bulls youth teams (u/13 to u/18). Take note: Players must be registered for at least 2 years successively at a youth club and participated in rugby matches during that period to qualify for selection for a Blue Bulls youth team.

The TuksYouthRugby Registration Requirements for 2018 are as follow:

  • A MAXIMUM of 50 players per age group will be accommodated.
