TuksYouthRugby (Boys & Girls)

Should rugby be your child's passion and you want your son's or daughter's rugby skills to be further developed through quality rugby coaching, more exposure, and opportunities, TuksYouthRugby is the right place to be.

 

Primary school teams (boys only: U-7 to U-13) and high school teams (boys and girls: U-14 to U-19, school leavers) are accommodated. TuksYouthRugby introduces the U-8 "Bulletjies" to the 15-man code to familiarise them with this format. This transformation phase is ideal preparation for the "bulletjies" following; it has been proven in the past and cannot be underrated. The U-7 "Bulletjies" play seven-man tag-rugby with a lot of focus on basic skill development.

 

TuksYouthRugby is the first youth club in Pretoria to introduce girls to 15-man and sevens rugby and gives them a platform to participate in various school tournaments that they often win. Presently, we have U-14, U-16 and U-18 female teams, and we also encourage girls who want to improve their rugby skills to join TuksYouthRugby.  Girls in the U-16 and U-18 age groups participate in the annual provincial selection for the Blue Bulls, and the club delivered eight female Blue Bulls players in 2018 and six in 2019, while two of our female players were invited to the Springboks Training Camp in 2019.

Another objective of TuksYouthRugby is to prepare the players to such an extent as to provide them with the best opportunity to stand a chance to be selected for the respective Blue Bulls Inter-provincial (IPT) youth teams (U-13 to U-18). Important note: Players must have been registered for at least two years successively at a youth club and participated in rugby matches during that period to qualify for selection for the Blue Bulls IPT youth team.
