Limited radiology registrar posts are available, which usually means there are more applicants than there are posts.

If you are considering a career in radiology then the following factors will improve your chances of being selected for an interview:

• Prior experience / exposure to radiology
• Prior experience in ultrasound is particularly beneficial
• Successful completion of the radiology primary examinations (MMed Part 1 or College Part 1 examinations)
• A background in IT / computers is not necessary but will benefit the applicant

You are welcome to contact the Department of Radiology if you would like exposure to the field.

Potential candidates are allowed to write the Radiology Part 1 examinations without actually having a radiology post.

Either the MMed or College Part 1 examinations can be written (a letter allowing the applicant to write the primary examinations can be obtained from the Head of Department via the departmental administrator).
