Dr Jarred Martin will chair the online panel Coming out: Personal reflections and professional guidance for psychology professionals, on the 29th of March 2023. The panel forms part of a series of professional workshops hosted by the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA). The panel will weave together personal reflections and professional guidance with the aim of enriching and deepening the knowledge and skills that psychology professionals bring to their therapeutic work with LGBTIQ people through their coming out. The panel will include presentations by Dr Martin, Professor Juan Nel (University of South Africa), Pierre Bouard (Centre for Sexualities, AIDS, & Gender at the University of Pretoria), Rev Chris McLachlan (Professional Association for Transgender Health South Africa), Vikashnee Nair (a registered Counselling Psychologist in private practice), and Nkanyiso Madlala (a registered Clinical psychologist at the Department of Correctional Services).
