Summary CV
Dr Locke has worked in clinical practice and veterinary industry in both South African and the UK. After completing her MSc in Veterinary Industrial Pharmacology, she joined the faculty in 2020 as a lecturer in pharmacology and toxicology and currently teaches undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students as well as postgraduate students. Dr Locke is also a supervisor for final year veterinary students completing their research module.
Research Expertise/Interest
Dr Locke’s previous fields of research include in the investigations into the mechanisms of NSAID toxicity in vultures. She is currently completing her MMedVet in Veterinary Toxicology and is involved in research on plant toxicities, including the effects of nutritional feed additives such as garlic on rabbits and the isolation of Cestrum spp compounds from animal tissues for diagnostic purposes.
