Help Desk

We have a Help Desk in the Onderstepoort IT Labs that can assist students with a range of issues that they will encounter at the University. We can assist and offer advice regarding:

  • Tuks accounts and log in, and the UP systems.
  • Setting up your PC/notebook computer for use on the Onderstepoort Village residence supplied network.
  • Advice and support for Post Graduate students to obtain advanced software that are used for research and thesis write-up purposes.
  • A range of software problems students have on their PC’s/notebook computers.
  • Limited hardware support for student’s PC’s/notebook computers.
  • SSD and memory upgrades.
  • Advice regarding buying a new PC/notebook computer.
  • Limited flash drive/external hard disk support.

Tuks Print

We provide multifunction devices (MFDs), empowering students with advanced functions to print in colour or black and white, copy, and scan documents. This also involves a single solution print billing and release management software system called YSoft. This combined multifunction printing and management system for UP students is called Tuks Print
