THE GRI HOSTS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SYMPOSIUM

The Genomics Research Institute hosted another very successful symposium on Friday, 10 November at the Plant Sciences Auditorium at the University of Pretoria. In total, there were 21 speakers, 1 plenary and 1 keynote presentations.

 

The GRI community would like to thank all the delegates for attending the 5th ANNUAL GENOMICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE SYMPOSIUM. We hope that you found the conference informative and worthwhile. The primary goal of this symposium was to bring together genomics researchers to showcase their work and discuss possible areas of collaboration. Your presence helped to make this event a great success and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together both productive and fun. 

 

The GRI community wishes  to congratulate the two prize winners, Storme de Scally and Genevieve Auger, who were both awarded ‘Best Oral Presentation’. For more information, download  their abstracts below.

Prof Yves Van de Peer from Ghent University, delivering the plenary lecture entitled “(Some of) The very exciting things we can learn from studying (plant) genomes.”

 

 

Prof Cowan  thanks Prof Michael Pepper for the  plenary lecture entitled “Research Ethics of Human Genetics/Genomics.”  Prof Pepper is the Director of the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Medicaine at the University of Pretoria.
