CMEG student, Andries van der Walt, wins best oral presentation at recent SASBi-SAGS conference

Andries van der Walt is a first year Masters student at the Centre for Microbial Ecology and Genomics with a research focus on microbial community involvement in Fairy Circle formation in the Namib Desert.  Andries won first prize for best oral presentation at the recent South African Society for  Bioinformatics (SASBi) - South African Genetics Society (SAGS) conference held in Durban. The SASBi-SAGS conference is hosted biennially with various themes. The theme for this year's conference was "Bridging the gap: Decoding genetics for integration and application" For more information, please see the conference website.
