Prof. Cowan, director of the Centre for Microbial Ecology and the Genomics Research Institute, was invited for a lecture at "Science & Cocktails" in Johannesburg. In this video, Prof. Cowan describes his adventures in the world's most extreme deserts, Antarctica and the Namib Desert.
