Posted on August 16, 2021

The University of Pretoria  Institute for Sustainable Malaria Control co-hosted the 6th annual Southern African Malaria Research Conference with the South African Medical Research Council. The conferences served to display the importance of a transdisciplinary approach in the fight against malaria. Additionally, it was a platform where emerging scientists could showcase their ground-breaking research.

Among the participants were students from the M2PL lab, spearheaded by Professor Lyn-Marie Birkholtz. These young scientists exhibited novel findings from research focused on various aspects of the malaria parasite biology.

Congratulations to Mariska Naudé, a third year PhD Biochemistry student, who displayed exemplary scientific findings, and was awarded for best poster.

Congratulations to the rest of the students who participated at 6th MOMR conference.
