JuniorTukkie Ambassadors give back to their communities

Posted on May 04, 2016

Members of the University of Pretoria’s (UP) JuniorTukkie Ambassadors Programme* hosted a Career Expo for learners coming from remote areas at the Rabboni Christian Church in Ga-Rankuwa on Saturday 24 April 2016. Learners who attended the Expo were given information about the programmes the University of Pretoria has to offer as well as the admission requirements for each of the programmes. The JuniorTukkie Ambassadors also informed these learners about the application process at the University of Pretoria and encouraged them to work with determination in order to reach their goals.

* The aim of the UP JT Ambassadors Programme is to recruit as many top achievers for the University of Pretoria as possible. One method is to send our students who are top achievers, back to their communities to showcase to their peers that it is possible to achieve academically at university – no matter where you come from.  It also instils hope in prospective students when they see how their peers are committed to their career paths.
