JuniorTukkie Student Society share their skills with the community

Posted on July 31, 2015

Members of the JuniorTukkie Student Society once again celebrated Mandela Day through various projects in the period surrounding Mr Mandela’s birthday. One of these activities was a visit to Bophelong Community Centre Children’s Home in Mamelodi on Saturday, 25 July 2015.

The JT Student Society’s Executive Committee and the Community Engagement Team painted the Children’s Home rooms and the study area. They also cleaned the hallway walls and windows. To make the children feel involved, they were given the opportunity to make hand prints with paint on their study room walls. After all the hard work, they held a party for the children during which they handed over some groceries to the house mothers of the Community Centre Children’s Home.

The event was an overall success and also an opportunity for the JuniorTukkie students to share their skills and create a positive effect on others around them.
