Undergraduate Programme Overview
The Department of Historical and Heritage Studies offers courses in History, Cultural History, and Heritage and Cultural Tourism at undergraduate level. Students have the following options in their choice of degree packages or programmes:
Prospective first-year students primarily interested in History, should enrol for the BA degree package and select History as their major subject (core modules). Elective modules can then be selected from any combination of other subjects in the Faculty of Humanities.
Students wishing to obtain a postgraduate qualification in education should confer with the Faculty of Education regarding the number of school subjects they should combine with History in the BA degree package
Heritage and Cultural Tourism
Prospective first-year students primarily interested in Heritage and Cultural Tourism should enrol for the BHCS degree package in Heritage and Cultural Tourism. History and/or Cultural history can then be selected as elective modules.
