The Transformative Innovation Africa Hub (TIAH) delivered training to Southern African Development Community (SADC) policymakers on Transformative Innovation Policy (TIP). The training took place at the Future Africa campus, University of Pretoria, between 4 and 6 Dec 2023. Delegates from 12 SADC countries participated in this training.
Day 1: opening remarks were given by Future Africa’s Deputy Director Dr. Neeraj Mistry, TIPC Academic Director Prof. John Schot, UNCTAD’s Mr. Dimo Calvoski, and the Trilateral Chair Dr. Ann Kingiri. The TIAH Director Dr. Chux Daniels, Dr. Rob Byrne, and Dr. Matias Ramirez introduced delegates to TIP concepts, theory of change, transformative outcomes, and transformative innovation theory.
Day 2: featured practical TIP implementation with case studies from Africa and Latin America, along with an introduction to TIP Tools by Victoria Shaw, TIPC Programme Director. Delegates engaged in dynamic discussions on the TIP Radar Tool, fostering new partnership talks.
Day 3: involved delegate presentations on TIP Radar Tool insights, with positive feedback and appreciation for the course content. "The Future is Africa." The
