SA Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Visit

Posted on September 19, 2023

Norwegian entrepreneurial stakeholders visited University of Pretoria during September to learn more about the South African entrepreneurial ecosystem. Key role players in the Gauteng region, such as UP’s Tuksnovation, Technology Transfer Office, Engineering 4.0, Technology Innovation Agency, and The Innovation Hub were visited. The delegation could also interact with various UP entrepreneurs and student spin-offs. The UP multi-disciplinary research approach resulting in high-tech outcomes were commended.

The visit forms part of the Utforsk project. The overall goals of the Norwegian - South African partnership for sustainable entrepreneurial internships (SUSTENTSHIP) are to strengthen the partnership between universities and entrepreneurial ecosystem actors in Norway and South Africa to improve quality and relevance in entrepreneurship education enhanced by comparative research.

This project is a collaboration between Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL, Bergen), University of Pretoria (UP), NUBS NORD University (NORD, Bodø) and Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Stellenbosch University (SU).
