The STRINGS project partners have the honour of inviting you to attend the launch of the STRINGS Report on “Changing Directions: Steering Science, Technology and Innovation towards the Sustainable Development Goals”, produced in collaboration between STRINGS and UNDP and funded by UKRI.
The STRINGS Report is a major global study on whether the directions being taken by the world’s science and technology are adequately aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It shows the glaring mismatch between science, technology and innovation (STI) and the SDGs; warns that if this is not addressed it will undermine progress on the SDGs; and makes recommendations about how this imbalance can be tackled. The Launch event will be moderated by Mr Ehsan Masood, Bureau Chief Editor (Africa and the Middle East) at Nature.
SAVE THE DATE: The STRINGS Report launch event will take place on Thursday, 20 October 2022, from 14:00-15:30 GMT+1 (London time), online, via Zoom.
REGISTER TO THE EVENT: Registration is now open and it is free but essential in order to receive your personalised Zoom access link. Please Register here: https://bit.ly/3EjD35U
LAUNCH AGENDA: Please find attached the draft agenda and the event’s flyer, where you can see a fantastic line up of contributors discussing the report findings and key messages, together with the STRINGS team! At the launch event we aim to build on the STRINGS report’s key findings to engage in productive discussions on how to address the misalignments between STI and the SDGs, empower effective policy actions and inform key stakeholders about more inclusive, plural and diverse STI choices in meeting the SDGs by 2030.
