Business Intelligence Management and Digital Health

The increasing volume, velocity, and variety of data and competitiveness in the business landscape are driving the need for effective Industry 4.0 technologies and tools. Successfully managing the appropriate digital systems is essential for extracting insights from big data and facilitating decision support to gain competitive advantages.

The Business Intelligence processes, such as data acquisition, warehousing, analytics, and visualisation, play a crucial role in complex decision-making through the transformation of raw data into meaningful insights. The strategic adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies empowers organisations to gain a competitive advantage in the evolving business landscape.

Moreover, Industry 4.0 technologies can support companies in transitioning to a circular economy for sustainability. Through data collection, integration, and analysis, digital systems facilitate Circular Economy (CE) activities such as reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling.

Research shows that the promise of digital health systems remains under utilised in developing countries. Hence, it is essential to assess the readiness and implementation success of digital systems to address these issues.

Potential research topics include:
  • Utilising Industry 4.0 technologies to generate data-driven insights for competitive advantages.
  • Leveraging digital systems to promote sustainable practices of a circular economy.
  • Utilising Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics techniques to advance operational and service efficiency.
  • Assessing the adoption, implementation and interoperability of digital health solutions.
  • Evaluating organizational readiness and success factors to adopt, implement and manage digital tools to promote data-driven decisions.
