In partnership with the CSIR, CDC and Harvard University a course on Building Design and Engineering Approaches to Airborne Infection Control will be offered, focusing on TB cross-infection in health facilities and other congregate settings. Also, short courses in topical areas relating to Healthcare Infrastructure and Technology are planned, amongst others: Healthcare Technology Planning and Procurement, Hospital Engineering and Auditing of Medical Devices.
Healthcare Technology Planning and Procurement is aimed at healthcare workers who have responsibility for – or interest in – the processes, procedures and criteria associated with good-practice planning and procurement of healthcare technologies, as a significant component of both capital and operational healthcare budgets.
Hospital Engineering is aimed at engineering and built-environment professionals and will include a healthcare orientation followed by the essentials of hospital engineering practice; hospital norms, standards and benchmarking; and health facility and occupational safety regulations.
Auditing of Medical Devices addresses the need to build capacity, specialised skills and supporting methodologies for asset performance auditing of medical devices.Copyright © University of Pretoria 2025. All rights reserved.
