As one of the oldest computer facilities at the University of Pretoria, the Engineering Labs has ingrained itself into the fabric of teaching for the Engineering Faculty. This facility focuses on providing computer classrooms installed with high-end computers and software. Electronic IT Lab management systems, Classroom management systems, Computer-based testing methods, and Audio Visual equipment support teaching and learning at the facility.
Hosting 300 computers, the Engineering IT Lab team is responsible for over 140,000 hours of scheduled classes, tests, and other functions per year. The environment is split between the Engineering labs, offering 276 computers, and the Goldfields lab, having 90.
