Construction of Engineering 4.0 commenced on 1 August 2018 with the completed first phase handed over on the 29th of February 2020. This page provides a visual history of the construction progress, primarily from an aerial perspective. The addition of UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles) to the Department's repertoire of instrumentation provided a unique view of this historic process. Both Prof. Wynand Steyn and Prof. Hannes Gräbe acquired their repspective Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) licenses in 2019.
