PROCEDURE

• You will be requested to register as a research group with affiliated users
• The users will receive individual login and passwords to the booking  and data retrieval website
• Samples are prepared by the client and are booked online. The samples are submitted to the laboratory before 9am on the day of the booked run and are typically processed within 48 hours.
• Data is uploaded online and the client can retrieve the data by logging onto the website
• Payment for services:

The client is charged per sample

The cost of the sample covers consumables, labour and instrument maintenance cost.

The group leader receives an account at the beginning of each month detailing the use of the group and the total cost of the samples processed in the previous month. University or Pretoria account payments are made by internal transfers into the DNA Sanger Sequencing cost center.

• Users are required to report all research outputs that contain data generated in this facility to the DNA Sanger sequencing facility. This information will be used to report to the University of Pretoria and funding bodies.
